Overview & Highlights

Nestled in a charming and calm street just a short stroll from the bustling Ripa di Porta Ticinese, Osteria Milanese OSSBUS is a true culinary jewel that brings the rich flavors of traditional Lombardian cuisine to life. This cozy Milanese restaurant invites guests to experience the authentic tastes and heartwarming hospitality that define Northern Italy’s gastronomic heritage.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly the ossobuco con polenta, where succulent veal shanks are braised to perfection, their tender meat falling effortlessly off the bone, complemented by creamy, cloud-like polenta that soaks up every mouthwatering drop of sauce. Another standout is the costoletta: a golden, perfectly breaded Milanese cutlet, crispy on the outside and generously sized, promising to satisfy even the heartiest appetite. For the adventurous palate, traditional offerings such as cassoeula, a hearty pork and cabbage stew, and stracotto d’asino, a slow-cooked donkey meat dish, highlight the restaurant’s dedication to genuine regional fare.

Start your meal with one of the delightful antipasti selections — from the wild game tagliere del viandante, featuring rich venison and boar salumi paired with truffle and vinacce-infused cheeses, to the velvety vitello tonnato or the crispy, nostalgic cervella fritte. These starter dishes are crafted with deep respect for tradition yet boast a refined touch that elevates every bite.

For dessert, indulgence awaits with classics such as the generous portion of creamy, luscious tiramisu—which guests rave about—as well as the sweet elegance of zuppa inglese and a refreshing sorbetto di frutta. Many diners cap off their meal with the house-made limoncello, a bold and vibrant liqueur that leaves a memorable finish.

The atmosphere of Osteria Milanese OSSBUS is as inviting as its food. Guests consistently praise the warm, friendly service and the intimate yet lively ambiance, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. Outdoor seating adds a quaint charm, allowing diners to savor their meals while soaking in Milan’s vibrant street life. The staff's attentiveness ensures you feel genuinely welcomed, making every visit feel personalized and special.

Patrons are unanimous in their admiration. Cris Iac described their experience as enjoying "the best ossobucco and risotto porcini we’ve ever eaten in our life," while Eric Marasco praised the staff as "friendly, attentive, and welcoming," urging others to "order everything" from the enticing menu. Such heartfelt reviews underline the authenticity and quality that make this restaurant a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable Milanese gastronomic adventure.

Whether you're a local or a traveler seeking to indulge in true Lombardian flavors, Osteria Milanese OSSBUS delivers an exceptional feast that’s steeped in tradition but served with genuine warmth. Prepare to be enchanted by robust, soulful dishes that tell stories of Milan’s culinary roots, all served in an inviting setting that feels like a home away from home.

The best ossobucco and risotto porcini we’ve ever eaten in our life (and we have Italian origins). The service was very friendly and the outdoor seating was so quaint.

Simply fantastic restaurant! The staff were awesome—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The menu looked incredible; we wanted to order everything. Every dish we tried was delicious. Highly recommend for an unforgettable meal!

Such a gem! Came for dinner last week and were greeted warmly by the staff, food was amazing and the tiramisu portion size was very generous. Finished dinner with commentary limoncello which was dangerously good

Just a very short walk from the super touristy Ripa di Porta Ticinese, this amazing restaurant is situated in a calm street with a very nice ambiente in the evening. The staff is super friendly and accomodating and the dishes are everything good you heard about Italian food. A special highlight is the homemade limoncello, it packs a punch though, so watch out!

A rustic and authentic small restaurant. I tried the costoletta, which is a traditional Milanese dish. It came in less than 5 minutes and was nice and crispy, although it was so big that it was dry and lost its crispiness by the time I was done! They gave a milanese salsa to go with the bread. The staff were friendly, thank you.

Absolutely recommend! The risotto con ossobuco is delicious, the rice al dente and creamy, the meat falls off the bone and tenderly melts in your mouth. Not to mention the portion is huge! I came with very hungry stomach and was prepared to order two entrees (usually have to in other establishments), but the host kindly recommended me to finish the risotto first, and he was right! By the time I finished I was full and satisfied. The tiramisu and lemoncello is also good. Both the host and waiters are very friendly, a great dinning experience overall and would definitely visit again!

amazing food with great price! the staff are all helpful and friendly. the ossobuco & risotto and tiramisu are a must! they gave us a free limoncello afterwards

Food was mostly very good, especially the risotto con osso buco was very tasty. On the other hand, felt that their pasta dishes weren’t the best, with mediocre noodles and sauce. Waiter was very nice, and restaurant had an excellent atmosphere. Would totally recommend for fairly affordable Milanese food, in a cute, trendy area in Milan.
